## Catalonia opens record 48,000 Catalan course places this term

Education. Language Policy minister Francesc Xavier Vila told RAC1 the Consorci per a la Normalització Lingüística is offering nearly 48,000 Catalan places, a record, as migrant regularisation lifts expected demand.

## Karnataka gives Tulu official status in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi

Policy. Karnataka's Cabinet, meeting in Mangaluru on 18 Sep, granted Tulu additional official-language status for Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, with Rs 82 lakh a year for translation and training.
